Many independent mud service providers have moved away from practical research, merely offering rebranded third-party products. Rapid continues to maintain its core research capabilities, continually reinvesting in its technical capabilities. We are proud to combine best-of-class third-party products with products developed in-house at Rapid.
An example of Rapid's in-house development is Rapid Top HoleTM, a unique polymer system designed for the toughest "gumbo" formations. Rapid Top HoleTM is setting records for rates of penetration through sticky gumbo formations.
Among other Rapid innovations is the new, plant-derived/surfactant drilling mud systems that offer an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional diesel oil mud systems. The Quantum EF™ Drilling System is a water-external phase, plant-derived drilling system that drills like an oil-based mud without the use of diesel. Minimal shale erosion and ultra-low coefficient of friction results make Quantum EF™ Drilling System a better choice for operators in environmentally sensitive areas.
